It's been ages since I've had a blizzard, but when a craving calls, who am I to refuse? I decided on the Turtle Pecan classic over lots of other options, most of which sounded pretty gross truthfully. There were lots of pecans, a decent amount of chocolate, and my only complaint would be how quickly the "ice cream" (or is it ice milk?) melted. It wasn't particularly hot, but it was soupy by the time I made it to the car. Service was quick and the store itself relatively clean. All in all, not a bad treat, though not as thick or delicous as I remember.

A teenage boy at the drive-thru argued with me that the Blizzard Fan Club BOGO Birthday coupon I had required I buy TWO medium Blizzards to get one free, um NO!! So idiotic given DQ is running a promo BOGO for $0.99. He also tried to charge me $1 extra for extra syrup on one of the Blizzards. We got home, started eating our Blizzards and they tasted like PEPPER! We threw them away. We will NEVER do business at this restaurant again. This boy has no business working with the public and doesn't know what he is doing. I would like to know why another employee didn't step-in and where the supervisor or owner was. I've heard that this DQ is known to have terrible customer service and I can attest to it. Don't go!! Sonic has better ice cream and better service.

Absolutely the worst service in town, prices that are way over the top, and lousy quality. That about sums up this place. I am officially done with this Dairy Queen. I've overlooked the absolutely ridiculous wait times, the stupid high prices, and the poor service, but tonight I finally had enough. After waiting the standard 15 - 20 minutes in the drive-through line (we were the 5th car in line), I forked over $9 and change for two medium sundaes that were priced at $2.89 each. When I asked about the extra $3, the "man" at the window answered me with a sarcastic and snotty response that "the price only includes the ice cream and topping. The peanuts (I ordered pecans, and told him so 3 times, but he ignored that) and whipped cream are 69 cents each." He then handed me two mostly melted sundaes with no lids, with whipped cream and melted ice cream all over the outside. When I asked for lids, he slapped them on without bothering to wipe off the cups, and gave a sarcastic "have a nice night". By the way, the pecans I ordered were peanuts, and there were a total of 6 on one and 5 on the other. Yep, $1.38 for 11 peanuts. I hope they choke on the profits from that one.

After waiting in line for about 15 minutes, I pulled up to the drive-through window and was watching as the girl was fixing our blizzards. I was also watching another empolyee putting a bag in a trash can. I noticed a red plastic spoon on the floor and wondered to myself if she would take the initiative to pick the spoon up and throw it i the trash. She didn't. Right after she put the trash can back up against the wall the owner came by and picked the plastic spoon up off the floor, but instead of putting the spoon into the trash can (a foot away), she puts it into a box under the cash register. I wondered if that was another trash can, but shortly after that my question was answered...the girl preparing my blizzard went over to the same box and pulled out a red spoon! It may very well have been the one that had JUST been on the floor...The OWNER put the spoon on the floor back in the box to be reused. I knocked on the drive-through window and told the owner what I had just seen her do...she said that she didn't do that...shesaid she put the spoon in the 'waffle bowl' and she was going to throw it away later. I asked her why she did that when the trash can was an equal distance away and she said (in a very bitchy tone while rolling her eyes at me) that she had to get the cash register straightened out. I told her that I didn't want my blizzards and I would never be back again and then I went to Baskin Robbins where I was treated as a customer should be treated by their owner. DON'T GO TO CASTLE ROCK DAIRY QUEEN!

I wouldn't normally review a chain ice cream store ... but, this DQ used to be the worst. You could be the first in line in the drive thru and you'd be there for at least 20 min. We went one time and got there at 9:45 (they close at 10) and this kid at the window was super annoyed that we came so late and said next time, so you know we close at 10. It's like, uh huh that's why were here at 9:45. Anyways, I went a couple weeks ago and there was a sign on the building saying new ownership. I was thinking yay, maybe this will finally be a decent place to come. I was 5th in line at the drive thru and was thinking great, this will take forever. Within 10 minutes I had my ice cream and was on my way home. The line moved SO fast, the kids were actually nice and there were a ton of them inside working rather than just one or two like before. We would rarely get DQ before because this location was awful, but I'm happy that someone else bought it and is turning things around!!

I don't know if the eldery lady in the back has to slaughter a pig, stuff the casing, and go haul water from a well to get a hot dog ready, but any time I've wanted an ice cream or chili dog and taken a chance on this Dairy Queen, it's been half an hour. Sigh.

Drive thru staff can't get an order right to save their soul...I don't like giving bad reviews but simple orders gone bad at an ice cream place is just silly...4th time the order was wrong...how hard is it to mix a couple blizzards and ring them up?

If you haven't tried this DQ with the new management you really need to give it another chance. It's clean the employees are pleasant and the service is incredible. WOW what an improvement.

These reviews are funny. Who writes this shit? Its Dairy Queen. Over priced? The most expensive thing on the menu is $7.59. What do you expect? If you are looking for 5star service then why are you at DQ? This place is the same as every DQ that has ever existed. Pimple faced high school kid takes forever to make something you came for. And its good. I love it. Wah!!!!

Absolutely agree with other reviews. While on vacation, we went to 3 DQ's, they were all wonderful-nothing like the Castle Rock DQ. Castle Rock DQ has awful service, owner is mean, and it's a crap shoot if you get what you're suppose to get. Last time I ordered a turtle blizzard and got peanuts-turtles are suppose to have pecans! Cones can be very small. They close at 9 on a Saturday night-way too early. Go to Baskin Robbins, Cold Stone, or Smart Cow!
